  3. 20710 Ptarmigan Blvd, Eagle River20710 Ptarmigan Blvd, Eagle River

Old European grandeur comes to Alaska on these expansive formal grounds. Visitors will first notice a formal fountain and courtyard by the front drive. Later you fill find larger waterfalls cascading into a pond. This is a must see that includes many formal planting beds and an outdoor kitchen, complete with granite countertops and large hearth.

  4. 2018 Sunrise Dr.

See how anything is possible on even the smallest lots when you decide to go grassless. Every inch of this small corner lot holds interest. The property is surrounded in raised planter beds and freeform pathways connect patios. A large koi pond wraps the northeast corner of the house, and a tiered waterfall washes away any reminders of the outside world.

  5. 4011 Romanzof Cir.

A gardener’s delight, this protected backyard is wrapped in sweeping planter beds. At the heart of the landscape is a quiet koi pond, sheltered with a variety of marginal and water plants. This all forms a relaxing backdrop to work at your short game on the putting green that borders the pond. This pond was on last year’s Parade of Ponds, but was expanded to four times its original size after the tour.

  6. 6355 Kalmia

    6355 Kalmia

This is another lawnless landscape. Meandering gravel pathways connect quiet sitting spots. The focal point of the landscape is an alcove created with natural rock retaining walls, a natural stone patio bordered by a pond that is fed by a cascading waterfall.

  7. Alaska Botanical Garden
    4601 Cambell Airstrip Rd

Stop in and visit the Botanical Garden on your way to 6355 Kalmia. There is a small pondless waterfall in the ABG nursery.

  8. 2431 Winterchase Cir

A pond with double waterfalls washes away any reminders of the outside world in this backyard retreat. Freeform paver pathways connect circular patios. Planting beds screen the perimeter and a gas fire pit keeps the chill off.

  9. 12600 Lorraine St.

A long stream seems to naturally come from the woods edge and cut through the lawn. The stream ends with an eight foot cascading waterfall. Terraced natural rock retaining walls create an amphitheatre that projects the sound of falling water through open windows of the house, and makes a powerful impression for visitors as they approach the font door.

  10. The Bradley House Restaurant

    The Bradley House Restaurant
